On January 17th 2026, in time for cervical cancer awareness month, 49 Franklin Reception Hall will be hosting a Masquerade Ball Fundraising Dance Party for Corey Blais to raise money for bills accumulated by Corey who recently passed away far too early, on December 29th at 11:50 pm. She fought a courageous battle against cancer. Corey and Connor Blais were married on December 22nd, at Andwell Hospice House, with an intimate gathering of friends and family in attendance. According to the 49 Franklin webpage; Come in Masquerade attire, have a great meal, take chances on some awesome items and get your dancing shoes on for the best dance music available to celebrate the life of Corey who wanted a celebration of friends and family upon her passing.

As a reminder, you will need to provide your own mask. The schedule of events is as follows: 5:00 pm doors open - Silent Auction, Chinese Raffles, and tickets for auctions will be sold at the door. (They still need donations of auction items please contact Elizabeth Chretien, 1-207-320-3234 or email, Echretien12@gmail.com) 6:00 Dinner will be served: Lasagna, dinner rolls, salad, and a medley of deserts. 7:00 pm Dance Party with DJ Scot G. 10:00 pm Auction/Raffle Winners announced-must be present to receive items or another ticket will be drawn. Fundraising tickets for the event are $50 +PP in advance and $60 Day of event. This will be a Cash Only Event, including a Cash Bar at the venue.
 
Corey’s mom, Tina Coolidge says, “Corey’s life has always been about love, strength, resilience, and caring, so we are trying to return these same qualities to her!” Cameron Chase, Corey’s brother, echoes Tina’s words and adds quite succinctly, “Corey has always been the best sister!” Back in the Fall of 2024, Ms. Blais was diagnosed with stage 2B cervical cancer. She went through her first round of treatment, which consisted of chemotherapy & radiation. A couple months passed, and she went in for a scan. She recounts, “Treatment worked but the cancer metastasized to my lymphatic system. Round two of treatment was set in place. Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy.” Treatment worked, she said, but sadly, “I went into remission for about a month and then I was told after the most recent scan that it’s back and that all we can really do now is to try to maintain everything. Another round of chemotherapy with no end date in sight.”

Corey, was a local photographer, among many other amazing things, received some devastating news on September 11th 2024, 6 weeks before her 30th birthday, she was diagnosed with Cervical, Stage 2B Cancer that had metastasized to the lymph nodes in her abdomen, chest and clavicle regions. She says, “I am very thankful for the community and the surrounding areas for being so generous and willing to help us through this tough time. It’s an incredible experience to witness the amount of friends, family, and complete strangers that have come together, willing to help in any way possible!

This is a wonderful way to give support and help our friends Cory and Connor battle the bills associated with cancer treatments and care.
