- **Event Description**: This introduction to parapsychology explores the fascinating idea that intuition and extrasensory awareness may be abilities that can be examined, understood, and developed. Participants will be introduced to the six senses, five dimensions, and the distinction between measurable and proposed unmeasurable forces, including ESP (extrasensory perception). 
The workshop will explore phenomena traditionally associated with psychic experience, including clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience, as well as questions surrounding precognition and whether the future can be perceived or influenced. 

Other areas of exploration include psychokinesis, the concept of mind influencing matter and telepathy, or the apparent sharing of thoughts, feelings, and mental images. The session will also consider reported experiences involving spirits, ghosts, and apparitions, and examine traditional approaches to communication with what is often described as “the other side.” Throughout, these subjects will be approached as areas of parapsychological inquiry, inviting curiosity, discussion, and personal exploration.

About Your Tutor – Maria Bott

Maria Bott brings more than four decades of experience in holistic wellbeing, personal development and the exploration of parapsychology. Her journey began in Rugby in 1980, when she opened her first practice in Bilton as a hypnotherapist and psychic counsellor after training with the Institute of Hypnosis and Parapsychology. By 1982, she was teaching workshops for the Institute and later spoke at a number of Fringe Medicine Conferences, beginning a lifelong commitment to studying and sharing ideas about the extraordinary potential of the human mind.

After moving to Tampa, Florida, in 1985, Maria continued her work through private practice, life coaching, self-hypnosis and yoga. She became an Usui Reiki Master Teacher in 1998 and, in 1999, qualified as a certified yoga teacher with Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Research Foundation, Bengaluru, India, through an exchange programme at the University of South Florida. In 2025, after many years in the United States and most recently running Blissful Body Life Coaching, LLC, Maria returned home to Rugby. Having studied parapsychology throughout most of her adult life, she brings a wealth of personal study, professional experience and curiosity to this introductory class, creating a welcoming space in which participants can explore this fascinating subject with an open and enquiring mind.
