Indoor Athletics -Afternoon Session Year 5/6

THIS EVENT IS NOT SPORTS-HALL ATHLETICS.

NO Parents Spectators in the sports hall, there is some capacity to watch from the viewing area above.

Each child attending the Y5/Y6 Indoor Athletics will take part in Field and Track events. Scores and Times will be taken and compared against other schools. For example if 20 schools came the best score would get 20 points for the school and the 20th score would get 1 point. Only the best score from your school will count.

Each child will take part in two runs, two throws and two jumps. The scores will be split up into gender and age groups to ensure a fair playing field.

4 Y5 Girls and 4 Y6 Girls

4 Y5 Boys and 4 Y6 Boys.

TOTAL= 16 PUPILS

Run

- 1 Lap

- 2 Lap

Boys Relay- 4 boys doing 1 lap each

Girls Relay- 4 girls doing 1 lap each

Mixed Relay- 2 boys and 2 girls doing 1lap each

( Each child needs to be in atleast 2 of the different race events e.g. Child A is in Boys Relay and 1 Lap Child B is in Boys Relay and Mixed Relay)

- Standing Long Jump

- Speed Bounce

- Vertical Jump

Throw

-Target Throw

-Chest Push

-Javelin

Each child will have 3 attempts at their field activities (Jump/Throw).
