Escape the city lights and experience the wonders of the night sky!
On Friday, November 21, join Morehead Planetarium and the Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) for an unforgettable evening of stargazing at Little River Regional Park. On this night, we’ll be focusing on Saturn’s nearly edge-on rings.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
-View celestial objects via telescopes guided by staff and volunteers
-Explore hands-on astronomy activities
-Enjoy a laser-guided “star tour”
This is an informal session, with the ability for you to come and go as you please. To make the most of your night under the stars, we recommend bringing a cozy blanket or lawn chairs, your favorite snacks, and a sense of curiosity and wonder.
Please note: For everyone’s safety (and the telescopes’), please leave pets at home. Since this event depends on clear skies, be sure to check our social media for updates as the date approaches.
