Originaire de Recife, dans le Nord-Est brésilien, le pianiste Amaro Freitas déploie un jazz percussif et habité, mêlant l’héritage de Thelonious Monk aux rythmes traditionnels du Nordeste : maracatu afro-brésilien, frevo et baião. A l’âge de 15 ans, il est bouleversé par un concert de Chick Corea marquant un tournant décisif dans sa pratique. Malgré l’absence de piano chez lui, il travaille ardemment pour devenir aujourd’hui l’une des figures marquantes du jazz brésilien contemporain.

Plongez dans un hommage vibrant à Sketches of Spain de Miles Davis avec Erik Truffaz, maître de la trompette électro-jazz, et le saxophoniste et chanteur de flamenco Antonio Lizana. Ensemble, ils proposent une réinterprétation contemporaine où jazz, électro et flamenco se rencontrent dans un dialogue inédit, intense et poétique.
