Trompettiste Suzan Veneman nodigt Grammy Award winnende drummer Kyle Swan (Chicago, VS) uit voor een muzikaal dialoog aan te gaan voor dit concert. Een brug slaan tussen twee werelden via jazzmuziek: niets nieuws, wel noodzakelijk.
What better way to build a bridge between two worlds than with music? This concert would be one of the many examples, exploring the realm of jazz tradition with much adventure, skill and dedication. Suzan and Kyle met playing jazz during the 'Jazz Rising Stars Program' by the Steans Institute, at Ravinia (Illinois, USA). These gifted musicians will meet again on stage, this time in Rotterdam.
Both Suzan and Kyle will present their original work at this concert, as well as songs taken from the standard repertoire, known throughout the jazz world. They will be joined on stage by some of the Netherlands finest jazz musicians: Jasper van Damme (alto sax), Timothy Banchet (piano) and Zack Lober (bass).
Suzan and Kyle look forward to sharing a musical conversation again, after more than 12 years!

Grammy Award winning drummer Kyle Swan has been working on mastering his craft for over 20 years. He has demonstrated true dedication to enhancing his artistry in every way. He has participated in many music festivals across the world which include the Detroit Jazz Festival (2024), Chicago Jazz Festival (2024, 2025), Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada, 2016) and The Jazz Cruise (2017, 2023, 2024). He has had the honor of performing/recording/touring with many esteemed artists such as, Grammy Award winning artists Kurt Elling, Brian Lynch, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and Paquito D’Rivera.
About Suzan Veneman:
Jazz trumpet player Suzan Veneman quickly established her place on the jazz scene, capturing audiences with her adventurous and soulful sound. Comfortable in many genres of modern music, she can be seen playing with a wide variety of bands, including the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam Art Orchestra (Marike van Dijk), BvR Flamenco Bigband, Zack Lober’s 'NO FILL3R' as well as her own ambitious projects ‘Zinder’ and the ‘Suzan Veneman Sextet’.
Suzan released two albums under her own name: 'Migrations of the Mind' (2022) and 'Zinder' (2024). She is about to release her third album 'The Art of Letting Go' with her sextet. (All 3 albums are released on ZenneZ Records.)
