Jane Johnson-Matua creates toi (art) using uku (wild clay) respectfully collected from the whenua of local iwi and handmade harakeke paper, bringing together materials that are deeply connected to Aotearoa. 

More than artistic media, uku and harakeke carry stories of place, whakapapa, and resilience. Combined with reclaimed and natural materials, each toi reflects the rhythms of kōanga and the life that emerges with the changing season.
