The impact of historical and current trauma taxes the daily lives of significant portions of our community, especially children, people of color, and those living in poverty. The impact on community service professionals is just as challenging, often creating high turnover, staff shortage, and burnout.In response, the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families, Department, Behavioral Health Services is sponsoring various training opportunities as part of our statewide initiative to implement and practice inclusive, equitable, resilience-based, trauma-responsive services for everyone.COURSE: Practice Self-Regulation™ Facilitator Training: (3 .5 Days)This course provides a foundation for facilitating Practice Self-Regulation™ with fidelity to the model. Participants receive an overview of research supporting the intervention; and session practice providing a clearly defined implementation process. Successful completion requires reviewing all material, attendance, and participation in all course activities.By the end of this training participants will be able to:Understand key elements about the neuroscience of trauma and decision-makingtheEngage youth and optimize the potential for changeIntegrate the model into ongoing services for youth aged 12 and aboveFacilitate all sessions with fidelity to the modelWHO SHOULD ATTEND?Clinical staff or supervisors providing direct services to those aged 12 and up, along with CCSS workers or peer workers supervised by a clinician who engages in providing interventions or preventive services. This course is set up to be an additional supportive intervention to supplement evidence-based practices.REGISTRATION GUIDELINESAttendance for each training session is limited to 25 participants.Participants must be residents of New Mexico.Failure to attend a scheduled training session will result in monitoring of attendee names and subsequent exclusion from scheduling future training sessions.We reserve the right to deny attendance or cancel any training session.A confirmation email will be sent within 5 minutes of registration. Applicants unable to commit their full attention due to on-call duties should refrain from applying.Approval from the participant's agency supervisor is required to ensure full participation throughout the entire three-day training period.WAITLISTOnce training reaches capacity, individuals can opt to join a waitlist.If a spot becomes available, individuals will be contacted in the order of their registration.While on the waitlist, participants can register for alternative training sessions.
