# Event Details - **Event Name**: Channel Cup Swim 2026 - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 29 Aug, 2026 at 07:30 pm – Sat, 29 Aug, 2026 at 09:30 pm - **Event Description**: The Channel Cup Swim is a unique 1.0 km tide assisted swim taking place in Rosses Point Co. Sligo.About this EventIt’s time for the Channel Cup Swim 2026, which will take place on Saturday 29th August at 19:30 in Rosses Point.Online entry for the swim will open on Tuesday August 4th at 6pm here and via our facebook page . There will be 120 places available.This year swimmers can chose to swim either a competitive or social swim. All swimmers will start from Tommys Island. There will be a female and male competitive pod who will compete for a trophy in each category. Swimmers who choose a social swim will enter the water in pods of approximately 10 people. The Finish line and exit will be at the slip beside the RNLI station. Please see the route map below.Swimmers must register in person on Saturday August 29th in Sligo Bay Lifeboat station between 17:00 and 18:00, no exceptions.The swim is in aid of the RNLI and there will be no refunds issued.This event will be strictly for over 18s only and wetsuits are compulsory.Please note that neoprene wetsuits are compulsory . Full length wetsuit, full length sleeveless wetsuit or a shorty wetsuit (short sleeve and knee length) are allowed only. This rule is due to our insurance requirements.Our fabulous goody bag will be available to swimmers at registration.The traditional post swim BBQ and presentation will be held in Austies Pub & Kitchen, many thanks to Lorna and John, on the evening following the swim.
