All welcome!About this EventThe Marin Art & Garden Center is a sanctuary, offering nature's attentive care, evocative of community like braiding sweetgrass—of ritual, gentle and intentional.Paired with the 2,000-year-old tradition of haiku writing, these gardens may awaken a mythic tone in your creative voice.In autumn, flowering plants like salvia, daisy, coneflower, hollyhock, black-eyed Susans, phlox, and yarrow are gently cut back to support their health and encourage new blooms. Haiku, too, is pruned—its words pared down to elicit something essential, even universal.Come write with us—where the language of the land meets the rhythm of verse. Our special guest, David Watts—well-known for his haiku and other books—will guide us in drawing inspiration from nature to create haiku. His collections include Dream Tree, Seed Kites, and A Blush of Balloons.
