Muriel Anderson Guitar Workshop and Concert

Guitarist, Harp-Guitarist and composer Muriel Anderson, embraces music from all over the world with a sense of grace, joy, and gentle humor. If you’re not already familiar with Muriel, you will find yourself smiling when you feel the joy of her music shining through a stunning array of styles.

Muriel is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Her double CD, Nightlight Daylight, was chosen as one of the top 10 CDs of the decade by Guitar Player Magazine and placed first in its category in 11 national awards and her “Heartstrings” recording accompanied the astronauts on the space shuttle. Among those she has performed/recorded with are Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten, Tommy Emmanuel and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Muriel was also named one of the top 50 acoustic guitarists of all time by Guitar Player Magazine and recently named the top 10 female guitarists of all time.

Muriel’s multimedia show brings you on a planetary tour of tastes, images, and music with a backdrop of stunning visuals by photo-artist Bryan Allen.

She is celebrating the release of Sailing Dreams, her innovative CD & board game, on the heels of her Acoustic Chef book/CD.

Muriel Anderson Guitar Workshop – Fingerstyle Guitar Techniques

A workshop to transform your guitar playing with innovative techniques that Muriel learned directly from Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, Doc Watson, Christopher Parkening, Segovia, Jimmy Page and Merle Travis’s son, Thom Bresh. Muriel will also share her approach to creativity, interpretation, and inspiration. Every participant will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive individual attention.

Teacher: Muriel Anderson is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. She is a gifted instructor and has learned from and jammed with legendary musicians in many styles. She tours year-round and has hosted Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night for over 30 years. Her recent release is “Sailing Dreams."

Includes a free set of GHS signature strings. Bring your guitar, pen & paper and/or recording device. Recommended intermediate level and above, but open to all levels.
