About this Event

Celebrate Multicultural Saanjh and Haryana Day with AHA!

Come and join the Association of Haryanvis in Australia (AHA) for an unforgettable celebration of Multicultural Saanjh on November 16th, 2024, at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Rosehill. This special event is not only AHA's annual celebration but also marks the 58th anniversary of Haryana Day, commemorating the rich cultural heritage of the state of Haryana while embracing the multicultural diversity of Australia.

AHA was formed with a vision to promote Haryanvi culture and heritage, while also fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging within the Haryanvi community in Australia. Beyond cultural preservation, AHA is actively involved in serving the broader Australian society, particularly during times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, bushfires, and floods, where we provided essential supplies and support to those in need. Our commitment to both the Haryanvi diaspora and the wider community has solidified our role as a key player in promoting multiculturalism and social responsibility.

Multicultural Saanjh is a celebration that reflects AHA’s mission to bring communities together. The evening will be filled with vibrant folk dances from Haryana and other states of India, making it a true multicultural event. In addition to the captivating dance performances, we are also hosting a Haryanvi fashion show, an exhibition, and much more, offering a diverse range of activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

This event is not just about culture; it's about community. It is an opportunity for us to reconnect with our roots, celebrate our collective contributions to Australian society, and pass on our rich cultural heritage to the next generation. We encourage families, friends, and all members of the community to come together and be part of this special evening, which promises to be a feast of color, music, and culture.

Host Details
About The Host:
Traditionally Haryanvis didn’t believe in migrating to other places and had always been content living in their own prosperous state. However, with globalisation and opening-up of world economies, Haryanvis started migrating for work or for lifestyle. The last 10-15 years have seen a considerable migration of Haryanvi population to not only Australia but other parts of the world including UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany & Spain. With an estimated Haryanvi diaspora of over 25,000 in Australia, an organisation was the need of the hour that could not only preserve and promote the rich Haryanvi culture of brotherhood & industriousness amongst Haryanvis and their future generations but also enable them to integrate better with Australian values & Culture. With this vision in mind, The Association of Haryanvis in Australia (AHA) was formed on 29th of June 2018 and formally launched on 5th October 2018 in the Parliament of New South Wales, Australia.Whilst we continue to work towards our long-term goals, our immediate priorities include bringing together the Haryanvi community through social events and interpersonal interactions, development of a Recreation Centre for our Seniors and assisting new migrants and students by providing them with much needed guidance, advise and support.Another important task that AHA envisages to do is to find avenues to assist the Australian States in building better relations with Haryana for exchange of business, culture and other mutually transferrable assets. We have set out with a clear vision and objectives and would look forward to the continued support of the wider community and the government.
