UCC Healthcare & Public Safety Event

Step inside the real world of healthcare and public safety at UCC’s Healthcare & Public Safety Showcase on December 11, 2025. This interactive, career-focused event brings you face-to-face with professionals from emergency medicine, nursing, Ph*rm*cy, fire science, forensics, veterinary care, respiratory therapy, and more.

Explore 25+ hands-on sessions led by experts from CHI Mercy Health, Aviva Health, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, the Oregon State Police, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Pacific University, and Idaho State University. Try your hand at suturing, test your skills in nursing simulations, examine real imaging scans, experiment with lab equipment, and take part in immersive demonstrations across campus.

The day begins with a live professional panel featuring leaders from law, medicine, veterinary science, and fire services. Breakout sessions follow throughout the day—and, weather permitting, you’ll also experience a REACH Air Medical helicopter landing for a close look at emergency air transport. (This is a planned demonstration—no emergency is occurring.)
