Tommy and Jimmy have been playing music for a number of years, becoming good friends through their love of music and song. In the late 80's and 90's they played the pub scene as a two piece until they went their separate ways. Jimmy played with various groups, while Tommy continued on his own playing pub gigs and church weddings. At present, Jimmy plays with 'Outa Diesel' while Tommy plays in sessions and charity gigs.On the night we can look forward to hearing songs from artists such as Bob Dylan. The Black Mills dates from the first half of the 18th century and is located near the 11th century Round Tower and the 12th century Romanesque church. The Black Mills and the surrounding land has been in state care since 1991. When the property came into state care, it was clear that there was an extreme amount of work required if it was to be restored and made accessible to the general public. The acquisition of the property was also seen as an ideal opportunity to protect St Cronan's Cross and to provide interpretive material on the monastic settlement which was located in this part of Roscrea. St Cronan's cross which was located in the church grounds nearby was relocated to the mill to fully protect it for future generations.The acoustic properties in the mill make this an ideal venue to hold music sessions.As seating is limited, tickets must be purchased in advance.
