Anthony embodied the very best of community spirit, whether it be organising busking in aid of Roscrea Hospice, performing to residents in nursing homes or entertaining at community events, he gave freely of his time to support every cause. Anthony was great to support the society in many events and the photo shown is of Dinny & Anthony performing at our first ever session in the mill in 2022. The society are holding this event to remember Anthony's love for music and community while also supporting a local charity that was very close to his heart. Proceeds from all ticket sales on the night will be donated to Roscrea Hospice in Anthony’s name. The Black Mills dates from the first half of the 18th century and is located near the 11th century Round Tower and the 12th century Romanesque church. The Black Mills and the surrounding land have been in state care since 1991. When the property came into state care, it was clear that there was an extreme amount of work required if it was to be restored and made accessible to the general public. The acquisition of the property was also seen as an ideal opportunity to protect St Cronan's Cross and to provide interpretive material on the monastic settlement which was located in this part of Roscrea.
