- **Event Description**: Come and join us for a morning of physical and mental wellness in the lovely green space of Eastbrookend Country park, Dagenham.About this EventWalking in green spaces, ideally with other people, is known to be good for physical and mental wellness. The centrepiece of our morning event will be a walk along some of the trails of this very special country park in the heart of Dagenham, enjoying the wildlife along the way. One of the Park Rangers will lead the walk, and the pace will be quite moderate, stopping to watch the birds, geese and ducks on the lakes and ponds. We will start the morning in the Discovery Centre meeting room, with a brief talk about the health benefits of being active, including the role in the prevention of Type 2 diabetes.After the walk, we will return to the Discovery Centre, where we will have an Information Hub in the meeting room, manned by members of the Barking and Dagenham Diabetes UK support group, alongside local colleagues from NHS Talking Therapies and HealthWatch. You may also like to visit the excellent cafe at the Discovery Centre, for coffee, refreshments or lunch.
