A variety of familiar faces will take the stage in the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge: All Stars on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. at Rome City Auditorium. All proceeds raised by this event will benefit the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia.
Modeled after the popular TV show “Dancing With the Stars,” the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge will feature performances by 12 celebrity teams, with styles ranging from hip hop to ballroom and everything in between:
> 2025 People’s Choice runner up Greg Abbott of Rome-Floyd Fire Department dancing with Hannah Camacho of The Dance Centre and Baird Ballet
> 2019 Judges’ Choice winner Lewis Byrne of Berry College Elementary & Middle School dancing with Lee Morris of The Dance Centre
> 2023 contestant LaDonna Collins of Georgia CASA dancing with her husband, Eric Collins, of Georgia Highlands College with choreography assistance from Consuelo “NaeNae” Saxton of Rome Middle School
> 2024 People’s Choice winner Dr. John Cowan of AdventHealth Redmond dancing with Dicie Waters of The Dance Centre and Alto Park Elementary School
> 2015 contestant Dr. Ryan Cox of Ryan Cox Orthodontics dancing with his wife, Amy Cox, a stay-at-home mom and community volunteer, with choreography assistance from Hannah Camacho of The Dance Centre and Baird Ballet
> 2013 People’s Choice winner Ali Freeman, a stay-at-home mom and community volunteer, dancing with Adolfo Chacon of Chacon Quality Paint with choreography assistance from Faith Im of Shorter University
> 2023 contestant Dr. Dixon Freeman of the Medical College of Georgia and AdventHealth Redmond dancing with Alexis Tyson of Rome High School
> 2018 contestant Dr. Kristen Leezer of Atrium Health Floyd Northwest Georgia Medical Clinic dancing with Payton Campbell of Atlanta Cycling
> 2016 People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice winner Danny Price of Berry College dancing with Maggie Grace Brinson, a student at the University of Georgia
> 2024 contestant Jeff Sherwin of Lulie’s Riverside Gourmet dancing with JoAnna Parker of The Dance Centre and Elm Street Elementary School
> 2018 contestant Cindy Stansell Taylor of Salon Ten 17 and The Wig Chix dancing with Chase Tolbert of Dempsey Auction Co.
> 2023 Judges’ Choice winner Megan Treglown of MegTreg Collective dancing with 2024 Judges’ Choice runner up Shaylan Johnson of Blooming Oak Photography Studios
Teams compete for the Judges’ Choice Award, to be determined by a panel of judges, and the People’s Choice Award, which is determined by community support in the form of funds donated. “The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, which provides critical services to four counties in our region, has seen a substantial 42.3% increase in services since 2020, with a 43.6% increase in pediatric and adolescent services,” said Oliver Robbins, president of the Board of Directors. “By simply attending this event, you are making a contribution to a very worthwhile cause and helping us raise awareness in our community. The Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge, which will be celebrating its 13th show, has raised more than $1.68 million for the Sexual Assault Center since 2011.
