Roman Food festivals don’t get better, the Taste of Roma, a four-day extravaganza that celebrates the best food that the city has to offer. You get to enjoy delicious, freshly prepared, rare dishes cooked by Michelin-star rated chefs, along with some experimental dishes. There are other experiences available here as well, including cooking demos, tastings and special one-on-one sessions with the best chefs.
Another great food festival in Rome to explore is the Eataly Street Food festival. It features “street food” from close to 40 different worldwide cuisines. You get to enjoy rare dishes like Banh mi from Vietnam, tacos from Mexico and even falafel from the Middle East which you can wash down with some Irish coffee was well. These dishes are also provided with an Italian equivalent.
Speaking of Irish, you could also enjoy the special festival Irlandese Roma, which is an Irish-themed food and cultural festival. Wear your best greens and enjoy sipping on some Jameson and Guinness while enjoying the many musical and dance programs on offer.
The Festival Oriente Roma is another great place to experience the culture and ambiance of Oriental nations. You get to enjoy an experience wherein you get food, shows and more from many popular Asian countries. These include the likes of India, China, Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and more.
Music lovers too can enjoy Rome’s newest Summer Festival in Roma which features some of the world’s best artists from various genres including pop, rock, classical and jazz. Last year’s lineup saw the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher, Retape, Patti Smith, Francesco De Gregori, Snarky Puppy, Ringo Starr and more take the stage in the festival which goes on for two months!
The festival takes place under the stars at the outdoor Cavea venue, a massive auditorium which can fit thousands. It is a great experience with your friends and family as you’ll end up having a lot of fun dancing and singing along to the beats of some of the most popular world artists. The night-time experience of the Roman sky adds a bit more glamour as well.
Another popular event that takes place in Roma is their Rome Film Festival, which happens around the month of October. Some of the biggest movies premiere here and the festival also sees a lot of local and international artists and directors showcase their talent. You are sure to enjoy the experience of watching rare movies and critiquing sessions by some of the world’s biggest talents.
