At the height of the panic, an odd stranger arrives at a family-owned boarding house to take up lodging and expresses an interest in the family’s attractive, blonde daughter, raising suspicion among members of the household. 
Upon its release, THE BIOGRAPH stated that “it is possible this film is the finest British production ever made.”
