Join us on a field trip out to Coliseum Mountain (near Nordegg) for a fun day of hiking and trail running. This is a no fee event, self supported/self guided event. A sign up form is used to help everyone coordinate carpools and communication, please see the link under "tickets" to sign up. That being said, please ensure that you're using a "buddy system" by having at least one other person with you at all times. 

The primary objective is "Coliseum Mountain" a 12.9 KM trail with 795 metres of elevation gain. The morning will start with steady, gradual switchbacks, before opening up along the final ridge to a nice, rounded summit. Complete the summit once, twice or whatever feels good to you that day!

Please note that cell signal in the area is limited, please ensure that you have all maps downloaded in advance.

For those carpooling, please meet at 6:45 AM at the SW corner of the South Common Walmart (near the old Mr Lube entrance) for a 7:00 AM departure. This will give us enough time to sort out who is driving who. For those who are carpool passengers, please be certain to chip in for gas money. 

We will start the hike from the Coliseum Mountain Staging area, expected arrival for approximately 10:30 AM.

All participants must be back at the Coliseum Mountain Trailhead for 5:00 PM and check in with an organizer prior to departing; we want to ensure no one is left behind.  This likely means that your "turn around" time is no later then 2:30 PM

Bear spray and water/hydration/personal first aid kit to be carried by each participant, hiking poles strongly recommend! Please also be certain to bring enough food to fuel your day. Early October weather can be unpredictable, so pack those layers (gloves, toques, jacket, etc)
