The Compassionate Care Hospice Society will participate in the international Children's Grief Awareness Day, which occurs on the third Thursday of every November. 

This day recognizes the approximately 203,000 children under 18 who will face the death of a family member this year, highlighting the often unacknowledged grief they experience. This figure does not include the loss of friends, teachers, or other important figures in their lives. 

Our goal for this day is to raise awareness, break down stigmas, and eliminate the shame that often surrounds discussions about death, dying, and grief—issues that children and adults alike face. We aim to unite the community of Rocky Mountain House to show all youth that we stand together with them, acknowledge their pain, and dismantle the barriers society has built around these topics. 

We challenge local businesses to decorate a door or window, wear blue on November 20th, and share their efforts on our Facebook event.
