- **Event Description**: Rocky Hill Congregational Church invites the community to a free three‑part educational series exploring the history and legacy of slavery in Rocky Hill. In partnership with The Witness Stones Project, participants will learn about:
- the history of slavery in our local community
- how to interpret historical evidence of enslavement
- five central themes that shape our understanding of slavery

This series is part of RHCC’s ongoing commitment to examine its own history—including its painful ties to slavery—as the church approaches its 300th anniversary in 2027.

Later this year, the learning journey will culminate in the dedication of a Witness Stone micro‑monument honoring Cloe Prut, a woman enslaved by RHCC’s first pastor. This will be the first Witness Stone placed in Rocky Hill and is part of Historic New England’s Recovering New England’s Voices initiative.
