August 22, Hurricane Island Event. 

In The presentation and walkabout at the Hurricane Island Center for Science & Leadership is coming up in 3 weeks. We have five boats currently planning on attending, but there is room for more! Please let me know asap if interested.

For those members without boats or just want an alternative approach to joining this experience, here is another way to get there for just the afternoon: take the Vinalhaven ferry out (10:30 – 11:45) and get picked up and dropped off at the ferry dock by the Hurricane Island staff. Cost for that transportation TBD, but whatever it is, it will cover the [$25] fee for the event." The Round Trip cost for the ferry is $23 [stated incorrectly in the newsletter as "each way"], and the last ferry back to Rockland is at 4:30. 

We need to know by Friday, August 7 if there is enough interest in the ferry/pick up approach to warrant setting that up. If I don't get any responses by then, I'll assume no interest.
