Public Safety: Winnebago County & ICE

Join us on December 4th.

A panel discussion on public safety and ICE activities scheduled for December 4, 2025 at 5:30pm at 2nd/1st Church. As you are no doubt aware, there are many questions surrounding federal civil law enforcement and the roles, if any, of local law enforcement in Illinois. This is a timely topic given the ongoing ICE activity in northern Illinois and recent passage of new state legislation (HB 1312) limiting ICE activity at county courthouses, hospitals and licensed daycare facilities. The LWVGR, Second / First Church and AAUW are sponsoring this public information event in order to help educate the public and provide an opportunity for the public to hear directly from our local leadership.

This will be a moderated panel format with questions from attendees submitted in writing. Your participation is critically important for our community to hear from you on this topic.
