Students without required immunization documentation (or exemption documentation) will not be able to start school. PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS BCS Policy states students entering school for the first time must have a complete physical examination. The physical exam must be within one calendar year of school starting. COUNTY-WIDE STAGGERED START The first few days of the school year are used as a phase-in period for kindergarten students. During this time, students are screened on an individual basis and attend school in small groups to become familiar with school routines. All classes are at least 6 hours long, 5 days a week and follow the BCS Calendar.
