Her experience includes raising millions of dollars through successful grant writing, event management, annual giving programs, special appeals, and working with major donors. Kay believes the golden thread that runs through these processes is building good relationships. Kay has a bachelor’s degree in business from Rockford University and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame.Kay has earned the designation of CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) and serves as the Director of Stewardship for the United Way of Rock River Valley, fulfilling her life-long dream of supporting the work of the United Way. She retired from her previous role as Executive Director of Carpenter’s Place where she had worked for more than twenty years. She is a member of NICNE's Professional Services Team, leading consulting projects around fund development, board governance, and interim Executive Director services, among others. Kay and her husband, Roger, have five adult children and four grandchildren.
