Samir Abdul returns to the Quad Cities with The Laugh Hour — an explosive night of comedy, culture, and celebration. Born in Darfur, Sudan and raised in the QC, Samir delivers raw storytelling, razor-sharp punchlines, and the same electric energy that’s lit up stages across Chicago.
He’s performed at iconic venues like Zanies, The Second City, Laugh Factory, and Don’t Tell Comedy — and now he’s bringing that fire back home!
Along with Samir, the show features the hilarious comedians Jen Khule, Jay Hunter, Dalen D. Ray and show emcee JT Totten. The show blends the QC’s funniest comedians with standout talent from across the Midwest.
Jen Khule: Is a Des Moines-based improviser and stand-up comedian. She’s a founding member of The Holograms, has performed widely with the long-form troupe Wisenheimer (including at the Edinburgh Fringe), and is a multi-time Improv DeathMatch champion. Her stand-up draws on her experiences working with kids, and she also produces Don’t Tell Comedy in Des Moines.
Jay Hunter: Originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He has earned degrees. He has served in multiple military branches. Walking his righteous path, he bumped his head a few times. But damn it. He brushes his teeth like a TRUE American!!!
Dalen D Ray: Is a new comedian hailing from the Quad Cities. His blend of shocking humor and real life experiences makes him a unique standout in the field of comedy. His hobbies, spending quality times with his pet, handing out toilet paper to those that need it the most, and spending quality time with his beautiful wife & daughter.
JT: one Quad Cities favorite comedian. He has travel all over the Midwest doing and now back home to the Quad Cities. (Anything else you want to add, please do so)
