- **Event Description**: Join us for the February Hauberg History Series!  Our speaker this month will be John Brassard Jr. and he will be diving into a true crime story that happened in the area, that being The Great Long Grove Bank Robbery of 1921.  On a cold day in 1921, two armed men ran into the Stockman’s Savings bank. They robbed nearly every penny and turned to leave. What waited for them outside the bank door would turn their story into a legend that would last for decades.

John Brassard Jr is an author, storyteller, and historian who shares stories of true crime, history, and folklore from across the state of Iowa. He is the author of three books and numerous articles on these subjects and has appeared in live performances sharing these stories all across Iowa and Illinois. John has also made several television appearances, including on the popular Travel Channel program The Dead Files.

Doors open at 6:30 PM with the program beginning at 7 PM.  Admission is $5 cash at the door.  If you are a member to the Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation, admission is free with a current membership.
