Riverside Drum Circle on the banks of the Mississippi! Drum, dance, and chill with good company on a beach, around a fire, while you watch the sunset over the river.
Don't know how to drum? Just ask! Someone is bound to be up for helping you get more comfortable joining in. Many of us bring extra drums, or other instruments, to lend out, as well.
Don't know how to get to the beach? The second image is a map of the marina and the routes to drive, with a marker for the drum circle location next to the end of the route.
Firewood contributions are always helpful, as there is no woodpile on site at the beach. Bringing water and snacks is encouraged, but make sure to clean up after yourselves.
Bug Spray is HIGHLY encouraged for anyone planning on staying past sunset. Citronella torches, etc., are also helpful. The fire will help, but it can only do so much on its own.
Also recommended to bring: friends. The more the merrier.
The event "starts" at 6pm, but the first hour can sometimes be a trickle. If you show up right at 6 and no one is there yet, you may have just won the race that day, is all. Make sure to come check the event to make sure it hasn't been updated or commented on/replied to with new information, if you have concerns.
If it is deemed that the beach is not a viable location for a given Sunday, we default to our backup location at the Singing Bird Center in Blackhawk Park, also in Rock Island, and a short drive from the Marina. The event should be updated if this occurs.
