Fostering the Family is hosting our 7th Annual Fight for Families 5k Trail Run/Walk on November 7, 2026 in a

BRAND NEW LOCATION

WESTMINSTER PARK

ROCK HILL, SC


This event is meant to bring awareness to the local foster and adoption crisis. Join us as we experience the reality of foster care and come together as a community to bring about change!

This year, we have two ways for you to participate:

The 5K Trail Run: A true, timed 5K for all ages that features interactive stations leading up to the start line to offer an insight into the life of a child traveling through the child welfare system.

The Family Fun Run/Walk: A casual, shorter route designed for all ages, paces, and strollers. We are currently finalizing the exact distance and schedule for this track, but it is the perfect option if you want a relaxed morning moving for a great cause!

5K Event Schedule: Interactive stations leading up to the start line will be open to visit from 8:00–9:00 AM, and there will be two water stations during the race. The 5K race will begin at 9:00 AM and will be professionally timed by Queen City Timing.

Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony at 10:15 AM with prizes for the race winners in each age category (divided by male and female divisions). Each 5K runner will receive their time via text.
