FROM DAN - "The dawn of the nuclear age unfolded to a sound track unsurpassed in our lifetime.  From the early 50’s to the early 60’s artists like Sam Cook, Big Joe Turner, Elvis, Bobby Darin, Buddy Holly and Ricky Nelson along with vocal groups like Dion and the Belmonts,  The Drifters, Beach Boys, Diamonds, and Temptations served up simple melody, complex harmony, rhythm, and originality.  These qualities are missing in today’s homogenized music.  Dan Saunders enjoyed a 10 year musical career during that golden age of Rock and Roll as lead singer for several regional bands including Scotty and the Rockets, Danny and the Checkmates, and Little Oedipus and the Mothers. After law school, he opened a law practice in Chestertown, Md. and drifted away from performing music; but he never lost his passion for the music of our youth.  A few years ago, he founded Duck-and-Cover Productions and began performing this memorable music to help preserve and celebrate this dying art form.  For more sedate events, Dan also performs a full repertoire of standards of that golden age by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin and others."
