- **Event Description**: The Mount Hope World Singers host the choir of New Bethel CME Church in a collaborative spring concert, "Together We Stand."  Their joyful singing will fill your heart and spirit!

Selections of the Mount Hope World Singers, led by recent Eastman School of Music doctoral recipient Allison Thorp, will include traditional songs from Zambia, Tanzania,  a Sufi melody and more.

The dynamic New Bethel CME Choir, led by Patrick Crumity, will perform several gospel songs including "I Feel Your Spirit" by Hezekiah Walker, "All in His Hands" by Bishop Charles Hayes.

The choirs will join together to sing arrangements of hymns, the gospel song "Every Praise," and the South African freedom song "Tshotsholoza."

The Mount Hope World Singers is a community choir committed to performing music from around the globe and is part of the South Presbyterian Church Network of Ministries.  As part of its mission to create harmony in sound and spirit, they frequently collaborate with artists across Rochester.  The collaboration with New Bethel CME began when the conductor of the Mount Hope World Singers, Allison Thorp, met a member of the New Bethel CME choir, Colette Hardaway, during Allison's dissertation research.  It has been a joyful collaboration for the directors as well as the singers of both choirs.
