in Rochester for a seasonal yin yoga workshop designed to support you as we move into the warmer, longer (often busier!) days of summer. 

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the months of June, July and August are seen as a good time to nourish our summer energy, which is associated with the energy of the heart and the element of fire. This relates closely to our connections, inner and outer relationships and appreciation of the natural world. 

Summer can be a busier time of year – we may have more social plans, enjoy more outdoor activities or simply be drawn outside more to make the most of the daylight and warmer weather. 

This yin workshop will celebrate this ‘summer drive’ and also give you time to rest, relax and cool down, helping to support balance. 

Through relaxed, long-held yin yoga postures, we’ll target the tissues of the body, help to release tension, promote calm, practice mindful awareness and help stimulate the flow of energy through the body. 

We’ll explore a sequence of yin postures that help stimulate along the heart meridian channel in particular, as well as other energetic channels that help balance this energy in the body. 

Throughout the practice, we’ll reflect on ways to support ourselves through the summer months and to help us live more in tune with the season. 

I hope this workshop leaves you feeling refreshed, rested, rejuvenated and with a little more insight into summer and how you relate to it.
