Originally formed in Detroit in 1992, Sponge burst into the national spotlight with their platinum-selling debut album Rotting Piñata, featuring smash singles such as Plowed and Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain).

The band followed that up with their 1996 album Wax Ecstatic, which produced additional hits like Wax Ecstatic (To Sell Angelina) and Have You Seen Mary? and cemented their place in the rock canon.

Led by frontman Vinnie Dombroski, Sponge has remained a formidable live act for over three decades, delivering raw energy, hard-driving riffs and unforgettable choruses.
