- **Event Description**: Join us to learn more about the Monroe County Climate Action and Resilience Plan and share your feedback on climate vulnerabilities!About this EventThe Monroe County Department of Environmental Services is developing a Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Plan (CARP) that assesses the social and economic conditions of the county and recommends policies, strategies, and programs to improve the resiliency of the County’s human and environmental services.The County is hosting Public Meeting #1 on Tuesday, November 18, at The Children's School of Rochester #15 (85 Hillside Ave, Rochester, NY 14610) from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. to kick off the CARP’s engagement process by listening.Public Meeting #1 will begin with a brief presentation introducing the CARP and outlining the priorities for the Plan. After the presentation, meeting attendees will be invited to participate in interactive activities to better understand the public’s experiences and concerns related to climate change and explore ideas for a more climate-resilient Monroe County. Families are encouraged to attend, and there will be a children's station. Free parking is available at the venue, and light refreshments will be provided.Monroe County welcomes everyone at the public meeting and understands that accessible meetings benefit people with and without disabilities. If you require any assistive technologies, language translation, American Sign Language interpretation, and/or adaptive strategies to attend and engage at this meeting, please contact Emma Falkenstein with Highland Planning at 585-504-1672 or Emma@highland-planning.com at least three (3) business days in advance of the meeting.
