Saturday 13 December 2025
10am - 1pm
Studio 7, Nucleus Arts, Rochester ME1 1PY
From £36PP
Spend a creative morning in the studio printing your own set of seasonal linocut greetings cards. You’ll learn transfer techniques, master image reversal and carve your design onto a linocut tile, finishing with inking up and printing on an original 19th-century press.
This workshop focuses on the hands-on making so you’ll bring your own design with you and get straight into carving and printing. Please bring your design with you, making sure it’s no bigger than postcard size please (10 x 15 cm). This could be a drawing or a computer printout, whatever suits you best.
All materials, inks and equipment are provided, along with refreshments. No previous experience is needed. Suitable for adults and young people aged 14–17 (children must be accompanied by a paying adult).
About the venue, making a day of it, plus travel and parking:
The workshop takes place in my studio on the 2nd floor above Café Nucleus, in a beautifully restored Edwardian building in the heart of Rochester. Access is via the main café entrance and the studio is reached via a staircase (approx. 20 steps). Unfortunately there is no disabled access.
If you’d like to make a day of it, Café Nucleus is a lovely spot for lunch or coffee afterwards - just make sure to book directly with them via their website. Please note that the café and the workshop are totally separate, so any bookings and arrangements relating to the café must be made through them.
You could also explore Rochester High Street, full of independent shops, there's a museum, gallery, lots of charity and vintage shops where you're sure to discover unique gifts. The Rochester Christmas Market will be on that weekend too so please allow extra time for parking, or consider taking public transport. The train station is only a short walk away and local bus times can be checked on the Medway Council website.
Refunds are not available on this workshop, however you can transfer your booking to a friend. If you need to do so then please get in touch.
