You're Invited to our November Program:
Light Pollution: What It Is & What We Can Do
Presented by John Moore-Wiess
Tuesday, November 25, 2025
7- 8:15 pm at Quarry Hill Nature Center
Rochester, MN
John Moore-Weiss, a member of Starry Skies North (a chapter of Dark Skies International) will talk to us about light pollution, an often underappreciated environmental problem. Stray light affects not just the enjoyment of the night sky, but wildlife, safety, and even human health. The causes of light pollution are generally poor choices or simple misunderstandings of how to best use lighting, but -- as with most kinds of pollution, the effects are felt by everyone. The good news is that this is a problem that can be solved and in a way that lets almost everyone win.
This program is free and open to the public, it will not be recorded.
