- **Event Description**: Join us for a concert at the historic Resurrection Lutheran  on Tuesday July 29 at 7:15pm. Bring a blanket or a chair for an evening of music from our very own Irondequoit Concert Band. If the weather is rainy, we will be indoors. 

Last year around this time, the band was celebrating their golden anniversary. They brought out some favorite pieces, both new and old, to symbolize those fifty years of music.
Now, the band has played a lot of music in that time, so many
favorites had to be left out of last year’s concerts. That’s why this year, we’ll hear a whole new selection of classic pieces from the band’s past. But we’re also looking ahead to the future – the next fifty years.

This year’s theme, “Playing It Forward,” is all about building on
that fifty-year foundation. That means continuing to play old
favorites and the classics of the wind band literature, while adding in some exciting newer works. And it also means bringing in new generations of both musicians and audiences.
