# Event Details - **Event Name**: Spencer Park Bass Tournament - **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 27 Sep, 2026 at 04:00 pm – Sun, 27 Sep, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-04:00) - **Event Description**: Join OE staff for the fall fishing tournament at Spencer Park!About this EventJoin us for the fall fishing tournament at Spencer Park! All fishing is done from shore and there will be prizes for the most bass caught and also for the largest bass. We will have a prize for anyone lucky enough to catch a tagged fish! A casting contest will be held for our younger anglers with prizes for the lucky winners. Free park entry fee for anyone who is registered for the tournament; so grab your fishing rod and tackle box and come catch some BASS!Appropriate for all ages. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. You may check in at 3:30 pm.Tournament Rules:1. The Tournament is open to all ages and skill levels.2. Tournament participation is $5. Participants receive free park vehicle entry.3. Unsportsmanlike behavior towards competitors or officials will result in disqualification (examples include but are not limited to cheating, disrespectful language, and arguing with competitors or officials)4. The Tournament is a shore fishing only event no watercraft fishing will be permitted for the tournament. Participants may fish from the shore anywhere around the lake except from the south end of the swim area to the north side of the watercraft rental area. This area is indicated on the depth chart.5. Participants may not enter the water deeper than ankle deep.6. You must register to participate. Register at www.rochesterhills.org/outdoors up until the day of the event.7. The actual fishing portion of the Tournament runs from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.8. The start and finish of the Tournament will be signified by a whistle or air horn sound emitted from the beach area.9. When a Largemouth Bass is caught, wave down the scoring vehicle as it travels around the lake. Tournament officials will record the catch.10. All Bass must immediately be released after recording. Tournament fishing is catch and release.11. For the Heaviest Caught categories, catches will be considered by weight. Ties will be broken by length, then first caught.12. For the Most Caught category, the most Largemouth Bass caught wins the category. Ties will be broken by total weight, then length.13. The Heaviest Caught category and Most Caught category can be won by any age.14. A participant cannot win more than one prize category. In the event a participant wins more than one category, please see a tournament official.15. Participants ages 12 and under can compete in the Casting Contest. The contest is held just outside the boat house shelter. Participants may enter the casting contest anytime during the Tournament.16. Casting Contest ties will result in a cast-off.17. All prizes will be awarded starting at 6:30 pm in the Boat House shelter. You must be present to win.18. Fishing equipment is not provided. Bring your own fishing poles and tackle.19. Watercraft rental will be closed for the day of the Tournament.20. Tournament participants are invited to make use of the park after the Tournament.21.
