Course materials will be provided that include all the information to be discussed in the classroom, along with examples of paperwork submitted to the FAA for a demonstration jump and a study guide for the written test. Instructions will be given on the use of various demonstration jump equipment, such as flag and deployment bags, smoke, and pyrotechnics. Jumpers will gain hands-on experience with this equipment and learn how to use it. As long as the weather cooperates, we will do as many jumps as possible. Jumps include instruction on spotting, the use of Windrift indicators, and accuracy landing. All jumps will be recorded from the ground so that the pattern work and Landing can be debriefed REQUIREMENTS: 200 Jumps! *** If your goal is to learn about demonstration jumps and getting a pro rating, and also receive canopy coaching specifically related to accuracy Landing, you may participate in the class. If your goal is to actually receive a pro rating, the minimum requirement is 500 jumps or expect to have 500 jumps within the next 12 months in order to complete the pro rating card. *** At the completion of the 3-day course, jumpers will receive all sign-offs on their Pro rating card, with the exception of the 10 accuracy Landings and working ground crew for an actual demo. It is possible to get the 10 accuracy landings during the course, but it is not likely. Jumpers will usually finish the 10-accuracy Landings later on. COST: $350- $500 per student, depending on how many students join. $200 deposit due upon registration. Keith Walter is a retired US Army lieutenant colonel Green Beret with nearly 6500 jumps. Keith served as the executive officer with the Golden Knights and also commanded the SOCOM Para Commandos demonstration team. Bringing his military experience to the civilian world, Keith is the President and Director of Operations for The Chuters. He has competed in skydiving competitions at the State and National Levels. He is a multi-rated skydiving instructor and a US Parachute Association Safety and Training Advisor.
