Vince Carney Community Theatre (VCCT) is holding auditions for "Gilligan's Island" on Sunday, November 16 and Monday, November 17 at the Lincoln Arts Center, 108 S. Main Street in Rochelle.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, November 16 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and again on Monday, November 17 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. You should plan to be at the audition for the entire 2 hours. The auditions will be held at the Lincoln Arts Center, 108 S. Main Street in Rochelle. Please enter through the back door.
The directors are looking for 8 individuals to portray the main characters from the television sitcom "Gilligan's Island" plus one extra character (see descriptions below). You should be prepared to sing something you've prepared that demonstrates your vocal abilities. There will not be an accompanist so bring a recording or plan to sing a cappella.
In addition to singing, you will be asked to do your best imitation of one of the characters from the sitcom. You can imitate the character you'd like to play, or just pick any character and do your best imitation.
"Gilligan's Island" was a silly show, and so this production will also be silly and campy. However, it is NOT a parody or a spoof. When working on your imitation of a character, go over the top! Be as dramatic or funny as you'd like.
This production of "Gilligan's Island" is being directed by Will Mingus with Jim Whitten as assistant director and Jenna Mingus doing the music directing and choreography. Show dates are March 20, 21, 22 and March 27, 28. Individuals who are cast will be expected to attend the majority of rehearsals from the beginning of January through the opening of the show, as well as all live performances.

Preparation:
Prepare a song to sing, either with your own accompaniment or a cappella. Be prepared to imitate your favorite "Gilligan's Island" character. Please plan to be at audition for the entire 2 hours on whichever day you prefer.
