- **Event Description**: We are looking for 4 actors of any age, race, or gender to memorize a specific story or poem of Poe and perform it as a 30-minute monologue in 1st person. 

Show dates: Oct 17-25
Rehearsals will be individualized to accommodate schedules.

Come prepared to perform the first 4 stanzas of The Raven from memory. A full copy of The Raven can be found on our website or through a Google search. You will also be asked to cold read one of Poe’s lesser-known works.

Auditions will take place on Thursday, August 7 at 7:00pm and on Saturday, August 9 at 3:00pm. You only need to come to one of those options.

    And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me—filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
    So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
    “’Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door—
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;—
            This it is and nothing more.”

    Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
“Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
    But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
    And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I opened wide the door;—
            Darkness there and nothing more.
