Orchard Hill Haunt (O.H.H.) returns in 2025 for our 6th-year, as we bring to you our free-to-enter haunted trail and trick-r-treating (all outdoors). For the 5th year in a row, we will be holding the event over 2 nights:
-Friday October 31st from 7:30 -10:00 PM
-Saturday November 1st from 7:30 -10:00 PM
We encourage those of you within the Orchards/Bonsack community to join in with us and provide trick-r-treating for the kids and take advantage of the increased traffic in the neighborhood. Let’s continue to make Halloween fun again for all the children and adults alike!
This event is FREE to enter (cash and PayPal/Cash App donations are accepted for those that wish to support our work) and is available to everyone of ALL ages. With us providing trick-r-treating, we encourage the kids to wear those costumes! With that said, we please ask you to NOT wear inflatable/large costumes to our haunt as we have a lot of objects and props that can be knocked over as well as some narrow walk ways. Along with that, our haunt is **NOT** handicap accessible this year unfortunately (wheelchairs specifically). We also ask that you avoid bringing any type of stroller through the haunt as this can cause an issue with narrow entrances/walk-ways. Please be mindful of all of this before arriving.
For the 4th year in-a-row, we are holding the Roanoke Valley SPCA Animal Shelter Pet Food Pantry drive on both nights at our haunt. We are strong pet advocates and support the local animal shelters, so we want to use our platform to make a positive impact in our local community. Let’s make this as successful as possible for the SPCA!
Some rules/tidbits/reminders for the haunt in 2025:
-Parking/traffic flow is always an issue with our haunt as we are located in a residential neighborhood. There will be signs at the end of our street along with parking cones to help control traffic flow again this year. We are located on a dead-end street with a double cul-de-sac, which constricts traffic flow. Alternatively, this does allow us to block the street out front and make a safe area for everyone to walk/stand in-line as they wait to enter.
-To help with the traffic/parking challenges, we encourage you to carpool to help limit the amount of cars on the street. Other parking options available: The Orchards apartment complex directly across from the entrance to our street, as well as Wal-Mart and Bonsack Elementary school which is only a few streets away. There is also plenty of parking along the curbs on each side of the street.
***We plead with you - please do NOT park in front of or block any of our neighbor’s driveways; please be mindful and respectful so that we can keep doing this haunt.***
-Absolutely NO running through our haunt. There are lots of props and objects one can run into, and the haunt is located throughout our yard so the grass can be slippery at times. Please walk carefully and at a slow pace (this also allows you to enjoy all the work and detail we put into our haunt!)
-NO flash photography, please. We will have a photo op set up in our waiting area and in our exit area for those that wish to take pictures and share your experiences. Flash photography can interfere with the sets we’ve worked so hard on and even the actors. If you must photograph, stream, or record, please turn your flash off. We will have a professional YouTube video recorded of the haunt that will be posted on our channel following the haunt where you can relive the excitement.
-NO smoking/vaping of any kind - please be mindful of those around you.
-There will be flashing lights, loud noises, fog machines, black lights, and lasers - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!
-NO touching props or sets - some of the items we have are delicate.
-Don’t touch the actors - they will NOT touch you!
-There are no age restrictions; our actors are trained to "take it easy" and accommodate the younger crowd, but make no mistake - if you are not here to get scared, you're in the wrong place! We DO have a by-pass line for those that are too scared to enter that can still get their candy and take pictures at the end without having to walk through the haunt itself.
-Have fun and help us make Halloween fun again!
