The project included renovation of the original 10,713 square foot facility, dating to 1965, as well as construction of a 5,750 square foot addition. The gymnasium was upgraded with new hardwood flooring, HVAC, and bleachers. Classroom space was doubled. A new multi-use community room, bathrooms, and staff support spaces were added. The exterior park grounds also benefited from upgrades including parking improvements (doubled the number of spaces and improved functionality), landscaping upgrades (event lawn with ADA path, 140 new trees, and all native plantings), new picnic pavilion, and redeveloped outdoor basketball court. Interior and exterior art opportunities were incorporated in building design and the artist selected, S. Ross Browne, has been working on-site. The project is also on track for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification with the use of solar panels and geothermal infrastructure.
