Auditions will be held as a ballet class with all ages and levels combined; it will be taught by Artistic Director Laurence Blake.

🩰 Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early to check-in and be best prepared for your audition. 

🩰 Dancers should attend class in a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes; pointe shoes are required for senior company auditions. 

🩰 Hair should be pulled back and out of the eyes: a ballet bun is preferred for dancers with long hair. 

🩰 Dancers should not wear any jewelry during class.

There is also an invitation for auditionees to stay for part of the afternoon rehearsal and get to know the current company’s staff, parents, and volunteers. 


✨Junior Company (ages 10-13)✨
Available to dancers with developing ballet technique and strong movement quality, is community based and gives the dancers the opportunity to take class and perform alongside the Senior Company. 
The Junior Company has an intricate position in all productions especially "The Nutcracker". Rehearsals for Junior Company are held on Saturday with additional Sunday rehearsals as we get closer to performances.

✨Senior Company (ages 13-18)✨
Available to dancers with strong ballet technique, proficiency on pointe, men with partnering skills, and a strong musical understanding. The work of SVB is based on the senior company dancers and relies on their talents for the varied roles in the company repertory. The senior company is expected to maintain a strong technical level as well as be leaders in the community and with the SVB organization. Rehearsals for Senior Company are held on Saturday and Sunday as well as some evenings during the week as determined by the Artistic Director.



The 2026/2027 season begins August 17, 2026 - May 29, 2027 with the annual production of "The Nutcracker" at the Berglund Center, a spring production in April/May and participation in local festivals and events throughout the year.
