Merry — radiant with wonder, joy, and light.
Mourn — drawn to shadows, mystery, and all things delightfully macabre.

For centuries, they have competed for every soul's favor, and this year, they have chosen a new battleground: the Court itself.

CHOOSE YOUR SIDE
When purchasing your ticket, you'll choose between GOOD or EVIL. Throughout the evening, guests will earn favors for their chosen side through a series of Trials that may test your wit, charm, creativity, teamwork, or simply your willingness to be delightfully ridiculous in public.

Will your side win the Dance Off? Claim Best Dressed? Win the most Challenges for your side? By night's end, one side will emerge victorious! Will it be the side you've chosen? Only Fate will tell...

DRESS TO IMPRESS
The Court welcomes everything from elegant formalwear and masquerade masks to fantasy-inspired attire, gothic finery, whimsical fae fashions, heroes, villains, and any and all creative interpretations of GOOD and EVIL.

There is no single dress code beyond dressing for an evening at Court. If you've been waiting for an excuse to wear something fabulous, you've found it!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME
This Court has no tolerance for bigotry, discrimination, or hate. Guests of all backgrounds, identities, orientations, and expressions are welcome here. We strive to create a space where people can show up as their authentic selves and be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, where everyone can enjoy an evening of revelry, self-expression, and community without fear of judgment. If that doesn't appeal to you, this is not the event for you.

REVELRY: WITH A PURPOSE
A Court of Merriment & Mourning is a fundraiser benefiting Friends of Ferrum Park, a grassroots nonprofit creating accessible outdoor spaces focused on preserving local habitats for flora, fauna, and Fae alike, in Ferrum, Virginia.
