Incidents involving these materials can be caused by such factors as human error, package failure, and transportation accidents. Because of the harmful characteristics of these substances, first responders must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to address incidents involving hazardous materials in a safe and effective manner.Note: ***This course incorporates classroom and practical training for hazardous materials response at the operations level.
