Talleres with Ulises and Roxanna

Learn in community as we continue our Son Jarocho workshop series! This Son Jarocho workshop will be guided by Ulises Rodriguez and Roxana Guajardo. In this 3-hour immersive workshop, you'll learn about the dynamics of a “Fandango.” Learn to sing traditional versos, be introduced to the rhythmic footwork of zapateado, and explore the distinctive sounds of jarana while understanding the dynamics of a "Fandango" festivity. Musicians of all backgrounds are invited to bring their instruments and join the celebration. Son Jarocho is more than music—it's a living tradition that brings people together through shared rhythm, storytelling, and dance. No experience necessary, bring your curiosity and an open heart! This workshop welcomes everyone interested in connecting with this beautiful cultural expression. We ask participants to stay for the full 3 hours. Open to all ages and experience levels. Bring any instruments you'd like to share in the musical conversation. Let's create music together!
