The Cielo Dress & Top by Closet Core Patterns is an easy take on a boxy tee and shift dress. It is a brilliant beginners dressmaking project and as it's popularity has grown, so has an abundance of inspiration online!
Choose between a semi-cropped top with a cuffed short sleeve or a dramatic gathered long sleeve. Or, make an easy-fitting dress with sleek inseam pockets, or without pockets. All views have a slightly dropped shoulder, angled shoulder yoke and roomy fit, with a choice between an elegant bias binding or a faced neckline finish. Size UK 4 to approx 24. This class runs over 3 weeks.

How to read a commercial pattern
How to measure yourself
How to use interfacing
How to finish a neckline using bias binding or a facing
What's included?
A commercial printed pattern with style variations which you can take home and re-use
What you need to bring:
For the Top, up to 3.2 meters, for the dress up to 3.8m. Please wash your fabric before class
Matching thread with which to sew your project
A sewing kit including scissors or rotary cutter, a quick unpick, pins, tailors chalk or fabric pen, tape measure or ruler, spare needles for your sewing machine. Kit is available to borrow if you don't have your own.
A sewing machine (if you don't have one you can choose to hire one from us for £10)
£100. This course is aimed at beginners.
Class runs for 3 weeks, on Thurs 23rd April, 30th April and 7th May, from 7 - 9.45pm at Saint Wilfrids Community Centre, Coltsgate Hill, Ripon HG4 2AB.
