Snape Local History Group has been researching, sharing, and celebrating the village’s fascinating story since 1985—including its Roman origins, centuries of aristocratic connections, and the remarkable legacy of Snape Castle, once home to Katherine Parr before her marriage to Henry VIII.
At our friendly coffee morning, you’ll be able to browse local history publications, archives, and displays that bring Snape’s heritage to life—from its medieval lords to its role in the Pilgrimage of Grace and its long history as a woolcombing centre.
